Leong K et al. - Controversy over its histologic origin and debate concerning its appropriate designation have led to inappropriate diagnosis of this lesion as ceruminoma, ceruminous adenocarcinoma, ectopic salivary gland tumor, adenocarcinoma, and other entities. The clinical and pathologic findings in the patient illustrate the biologic behavior of adenomatous tumors of the middle ear and their relationship with rare carcinoid tumors of the middle ear.
