A study showed that a greater percentage of patients with type 2 diabetes treated with the fixed–dose combination ACTOplus met as initial therapy reached the study goal of hemoglobin A1c of <=7 percent compared to either component alone. Safety and tolerability of ACTOplus met therapy were evaluated by rate of drug discontinuation and treatment–emergent adverse events.
