Su S–C et al. – There is increasing evidence that through molecular mimicry, P. putida can induce various autoimmune disorders; this may demonstrate the association of P. putida infection with subacute thyroiditis by an unknown mechanism. This patient is the first case of subacute thyroiditis associated with P. putida bacteremia.
