Laitinen T et al. – Women with hypertensive pregnancies, though not overweight before pregnancy, gain and retain excess gestational weight and this leads to metabolic abnormalities similar to those seen in women GDM. Thus, postpartum period appears to be critical for weight management and interventional programs are called for.
