| This article presents modern, contemporary grwoth curves for height, weight and BMI for affluent Indian children. For the first time in India the LMS method for creating growth chart is used. This article also throws light on the alarming rise of childhood obesity across India. These charts will help health care professionals to diagnose short stature, obesity and growth disorders at an early stage. Also for the researcher, LMS have been constructed to calculate z scores at any given age. These LMS can be obtained from the author on request. |
