This program is designed as an update for physicians and other health-care professionals who diagnose and treat patients with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Interactive question and answer sessions will be combined with case discussions in small group settings for increased learning.
At the end of the program, participants should be able to:
- Discuss intensive insulin therapy in the treatment of patients with diabetes
- Discuss the current concepts regarding fructose and the metabolic syndrome
- Discuss the current controversies in diabetes management
- Describe the pathophysiology of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus, the Metabolic Syndrome, and the treatment
- Describe the "old" and "new" options for treatment of patients with Type 1 and 2 Diabetes Mellitus
