Endocrine Practice, 10/06/2011
Markou A et al. – Co–existence of tumor induced osteomalacia (TIO) and primary hyperparathyroidism (HPT) is extremely rare, has not been described before and can cause life–threatening hypophosphatemia. Diagnosis and identification of the tumor location is of paramount importance since surgery is the treatment of choice for both TIO and primary HPT.
