The Endocrinologist, 03/05/2009
Alkaabi JM et al. - A 25-year-old woman, postcaesarian section, presented with polyuria, polydipsia, nausea, headache, loss of appetite, and occasional vomiting for 4 weeks. Physical examination, laboratory and radiographic findings were consistent with diabetes insipidus. She responded to removal of the placenta, desmopressin therapy, and appropriate fluid management. Literature review indicates GDI is rare. The precise pathophysiologic mechanism is uncertain.
