Schillie SF et al. – The prevalence of hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection among persons with diabetes has not been assessed among the US population, despite increasing reports of HBV transmission in institutional care settings. Using national survey data, they found a 60% higher prevalence of HBV infection among persons with (vs without) diagnosed diabetes.
