The management of dislocation in hip arthroplasty
Orthopaedics and Trauma, 10/29/09
Yarlagadda R et al. – Hip dislocation and the sequel of recurrent instability continues to be a problem following Total Hip Arthroplasty, and is one of the leading causes of revision surgery. The cause of instability is often multi–factorial, including patient factors, surgeon factors, implant position and design, together with soft tissue related factors. Successful management of hip instability depends on an accurate assessment and, thereafter, addressing as many of these factors as possible.
