Transcatheter embolisation of blunt splenic injury in Von Willebrands disease
Injury Extra, 10/27/09
Spivack D et al. – Transcatheter embolisation was a useful technique for managing intra–parenchymal splenic pseudoaneurysms in a patient with Von Willebrand's disease. Provided the underlying haematologic disorder is identified and appropriate pre–procedure interventions are performed, the patient can safely undergo successful coil embolisation of the pseudoaneurysm with excellent outcomes.
