Cook S et al. – This article reviews the growing evidence supporting the clinical use of left ventricular assist devices. Specifically, the authors discuss the use of left ventricular assist devices in patients with cardiogenic shock, in patients with acute ST–elevation myocardial infarction without shock, and during high–risk percutaneous coronary interventions.
