Gastrointestinal stromal tumors and shock
Journal of Emergencies, Trauma and Shock, 09/04/09
Hassani KIM et al. – Gastrointestinal stromal tumors are the most common mesenchymal tumor of the gastrointestinal tract. Clinically, they are associated with nonspecific symptoms, but some patients can present gastrointestinal bleeding with shock. The authors report two cases of GIST of the small bowel, revelated by hemorrhagic shock secondary to acute bleeding, succesfully treated by emergency surgery.
