Kaushal D et al. – Co–administration of neostigmine with bupivacaine prolonged the duration of surgical analgesia after a single shot caudal injection, thus allowing single shot caudal anaesthesia to be recommended for surgery lasting more than 4 hours. This could be a safe and cheap alternative to extradural/caudal catheter placement for surgical procedures of intermediate duration. It provides excellent perioperative hemodynamic stability.
