Zlotolow DA – Injuries to the metacarpophalangeal joint of the thumb are common and range from single ligament ruptures to complex fractures or dislocations. The treatment of radial collateral ligament injuries varies from casting to repair to reconstruction, but guidance on how to treat the more rare injuries such as avulsion fractures and the more common injuries, such as ulnar collateral ligament ruptures is even today a matter of opinion.
