Gautschi OP et al. - The study results strongly support a humoral mechanism in enhanced fracture healing and the induction of HO after TBI. Increased proliferation of osteoblastic cells and an accelerated differentiation of osteoprogenitor cells may be responsible for increased osteogenesis in TBI.
