Devkaran S et al. - Emergency department overcrowding is a ubiquitous problem with serious public health implications. The study objective was to determine the impact of a fast track area on both effectiveness measures and quality measures in non-urgent patients. The FTA improved ED effectiveness and quality measures whereas mortality rate remained unchanged.
