Desphande A et al. - MIS appears to be safe and effective in carefully selected patients in paediatric trauma care. In these patients, it offers the benefit of thorough internal examination of the coelomic cavity, improved identification of diaphragmatic injuries, treatment of visceral injuries and a shorter hospital stay in the less severely injured patients.
