Wootten CT et al. - The Sistrunk procedure has been advocated for TGDC excision, citing a low recurrence rate. However, if the thyroid cartilage is mistaken for the hyoid bone, significant airway injury occurs. Urgent laryngotracheoplasty is indicated, but poor voice outcomes are anticipated.
