Matsumoto Y et al. - The data indicated that IL-16 enhanced the immunosuppressive effect of IL-10. IL-16-cDNA- and IL-10-cDNA-double-transfected squamous cell carcinoma cell line were used as an in vitro model and they produced more than 20 ng/ml of IL-16 and 100 pg/ml of IL-10 in the supernatant, which significantly inhibited MLR and also the activation of allogeneic lymphocytes, which were stimulated directly by allogeneic double-cDNA-transfectant cells.
