Black KI et al. - Emergency contraception (EC) methods, available in oral and intra-uterine forms, seek to prevent pregnancy after unprotected intercourse or contraceptive failure. Levonorgestrel EC is more effective and has fewer side effects than the previously used combined oral hormonal method; the Yuzpe regimen.
