Orekunrin O et al. - All patients diagnosed as having HHS need to be admitted to hospital. Aggressive volume replacement to restore renal perfusion is the cornerstone of therapy and the first priority, with attention to electrolyte balance, especially treatment of hypokalaemia. Any precipitating illness should be identified and treated immediately. Careful monitoring of vital signs, fluid balance, and frequent clinical re-evaluation is the key for successful treatment.
