Friedman RW et al. - Compared to the antiemetics, meperidine caused less akathisia. Meperidine and ketorolac use resulted in similar rates of gastrointestinal adverse effects and sedation. Clinicians should consider alternatives to meperidine when treating acute migraine with injectable agents.
