Brown NM et al. – There was a trend toward an increased risk of deep infection, readmission, thromboembolic events, and any reoperation. The increased risk of perioperative complications after total knee arthroplasties (TKAs) should be considered when counseling patients if they are an appropriate candidate for either procedure.
