HCA Lands a Clinical Systems Chief

Richard Tayrien, M.D., will become chief health information officer of Hospital operator HCA Inc. effective Sept. 21. The position is new and Tayrien will report to Jonathan Perlin, M.D., chief medical officer and president of Nashville, Tenn.–based HCA's clinical services group. Tayrien will be responsible for continued development and implementation of advanced information technologies, such as computerized provider order entry and decision support.
