Creative ideas for the movement of goods

The "Green" paternoster system developed by design student Manuel Dreesmann was awarded first prize at this year's VisionWorks Award "CargoPacks 2020", initiated by Bayer MaterialScience AG. His concept is delightfully simple – powered by a water mill, fruit and vegetable plants grown in a paternoster are hauled up the sides of high–rise buildings on a steel cable, supplying the products directly from the "field" to self–service machines. A positive side effect of these "living, green" façades is that the plants improve the air quality inside the building and reduce the energy costs for air conditioning and ventilation.
