Solvay is the first main sponsor in this very challenging project, which seeks to generate maximum support for technologies that will permit sustainable development. Solar Impulse is an airplane, powered exclusive by photovoltaic cells and capable to fly autonomously, day and night without using any fossil fuels. The prototype of the solar airplane HB-SIA was presented to the press on June in Dübendorf, Switzerland.
