Maine legislature approves pharmacist immunization

Earlier this month, the Maine legislature passed LD 1223, "An Act to Allow Pharmacists to Administer Certain Immunizations." Sponsored by State Representative George Hogan (D), the bill allows pharmacists to administer certain drugs and immunizations, including the influenza, intranasal influenza, pneumococcal, herpes zoster (shingles), tetanus–diphtheria–pertussis, and tetanus–diphtheria vaccines with certain restrictions.
