Spherix announces full-scale production of pharmaceutical tagatose

Spherix Incorporated, an innovator in biotechnology for diabetes therapy, and a provider of technical and regulatory consulting services to food, supplement, biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, announced that it has received its first full-scale production batch of cGMP D-tagatose, USP grade. One metric ton of drug was received from the manufacturer, Inalco S.p.A., of Italy. Spherix will use the tagatose in the process of satisfying the CMC requirements of its NDA to the U.S. FDA.
