The U.S. Department of Agriculture has granted approval for the GlyTol cotton technology developed by Bayer CropScience. Cotton varieties with the GlyTol trait are tolerant to the herbicide glyphosate. The USDA's decision, which follows approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, marks another milestone towards the first commercialization of GlyTol cotton.
