Medtronic to Seek Indication Expansion for Heart Failure Device Therapy

Medtronic announced that it intends to seek U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval for the use of Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy in certain mildly symptomatic heart failure patients. CRT is a proven life-saving therapy for some patients with advanced stages of heart failure; however it is not currently approved for use in earlier stages, or mildly symptomatic patients.
