Consumer Reports Poll: Many Americans Not Taking Needed Medication

According to a recent Consumer Reports poll, 66% of those surveyed said they did not know the price of their prescription until they picked it up from the pharmacy, while only 4% said they had a conversation with their doctor about the cost of their medication. Twenty-eight percent of respondents stated they have taken potentially dangerous actions to save money, such as not filling prescriptions, skipping dosages, and cutting pills in half without the approval of their physician. The situation among Hispanic consumers is even worse.
