With the ageing UK population, Dementia is an increasing challenge to society. In the UK it is estimated that 570,00 people suffer from the condition, and it is expected to double in the next 30 years. A recent survey by the Alzheimer`s Society of 2,300 patients and carers found that two thirds of patients paid towards care such as help with washing, eating and dressing because it was classed as a social need and therefore means tested, rather than linked to their medical condition.
