Sun PL et al. – The authors report an unusual case of onychomycosis caused by Phaeoacremonium parasiticum, which has not been mentioned in the literature before. The diagnosis was made by a clinical–mycological correlation. The pathogen was identified by morphological characteristics and further confirmed by sequencing of the beta–tubulin gene.
