Robertson GP et al. - Liposomes delivering chemotherapies, siRNA, asODNs, DNA, and radioactive particles are just some of the promising new nanotechnology based therapies under development for the treatment of melanoma that are discussed in this review.

This article is useful to persons developing new therapies to treat patients suffering from malignant melanoma. Nanotechnology, and in particular liposomes, has potential to load multiple targeted therapies, which is believed to be needed for the successful management of this disease. These concepts are reviewed in this article.
