Berlien HP et al. - Eyelid-hemangioma occupies an exceptional position in the broad range of infantile hemangiomas. In many cases they show a rapid progression resulting in a high risk of amblyopia, and a large number of treatments are needed to achieve a regression. Surgical resection is not an appropriate therapy due to the high degree of vascularization and the consequent risk of heavy bleeding.
