Alanine aminopeptidase and dipeptidylpeptidase IV in saliva of chronic periodontitis patients
Journal of Periodontology, 07/20/09
Aemaimanan P et al. – Alanine aminopeptidase (ALAP) and dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPPIV) are ectopeptidase that play role in collagen degradation and are thought to be involved in the destruction of periodontal tissue. This study compared the activities of salivary ALAP and DPPIV in periodontitis and periodontally healthy subjects. DPPIV activity, but not ALAP, is associated with periodontitis and the presence of P. gingivalis.
