Nitschke I et al. - The lack of a dental service and Leipzig students' inability to offer treatment in the presence of disease was associated with frustrations. Practical training should go beyond dental examinations at a long-term care facility and include the opportunity for dental treatment. Personnel and equipment required for mobile treatment exceed resources available at most German dental schools.

| Zürich students were very active and had a lot of enthusiasm and great fun in their outreach activity with mobiDent, the mobile dental clinic. The combination of a valuable service to disadvantaged sections of the local community with undergraduate dental education has the potential to motivate influence students' attitudes to frail elderly for life. |
