Oleyar M et al. – Awake fiberoptic intubation may be the safest approach for placement of an endotracheal tube in a patient with severe neck flexion. Cricothyroid puncture for topicalization and/or establishing an airway may not be possible. In these patients, a frontal approach may be the best option as opposed to attempting intubation with the anesthesiologist standing at the head of the table.
