Chien C–T et al. – Hemophagocytic syndrome is an uncommon disease characterized by cytokine dysfunction and uncontrolled hemophagocytosis. The authors report a 28–year–old primigravida with the onset of hemophagocytic syndrome and cyopenia at 23 weeks of gestation. Early diagnosis, multi–disciplinary intervention, pre–operative correction of the hematological abnormalities, general anesthesia and close postoperative monitoring are necessary.
