Rousseau JM et al. - The French military health service has developed a new auto-injector presenting as a self-usable dual-chamber syringe and successfully obtained a new drug approval to provide this new emergency treatment for the military and civilians. After a short review of the pathophysiology and clinical presentation of acute nerve agent, the authors report the development and the process of new drug application. They finally suggest a clinical guideline for practical use in case of terrorist attack.
