Tanczos K et al. - The preliminary results of this study, such as the tendency in less fluid requirement in the Scvo2 group, justify the completion of the trial to come to firm conclusions. The observed high Scvo2 (80%), which is in accord with previously reported data, suggest that “normal” or “target” values for anaesthetized patients during major abdominal surgery should be redefined.
