Insulin promotes T-cell recovery in a model of autoimmune myocarditis
Clinical and Experimental Immunology, 08/20/2012
Zhang Y et al. – The authors report here for the first time that insulin alleviates myocarditis in the experimental autoimmune myocarditis (EAM) model. These data showed that insulin has a direct effect on T–cell proliferation in EAM. It is possible that GIK or insulin may assist T–cell recovery toward normal in myocarditis, especially for diabetic or hyperglycemic patients.
