Scott JD et al. – The median time to treatment after being evaluated was 1.39 years. Of the 17 treated 6 patients had a sustained virologic response, but only 2.4% of the original number of patients were cured. Approximately one half of patients in an HIV–specialty clinic were evaluated for HCV therapy and 16% received treatment, but the median time to treatment from the time of HCV diagnosis was over 4 years.
