Anti-apoptotic proteins Bcl-2/Bcl-XL inhibit Clostridium difficile toxin A-induced cell death in human epithelial cells
Infection and Immunity, 10/12/09
Matte I et al. – The data demonstrate that TcdA induces cell death in both ovarian and colonic cancer cells preferentially via the mitochondria pathway of apoptosis by a death receptor–independent and caspase–independent mechanism. This process is regulated by anti–apoptotic members of Bcl–2 family.
