Arjanova OV et al. - The inclusion of Dzherelo into the ATT regimen decreased the incidence of new opportunistic infections with three episodes of OI versus 12 in arm A. These findings indicate that Dzherelo contributes positively to the clinical efficacy of TB drugs.

Our study confirms that the efficacy of first-line TB drugs is enhanced by herbal immunomodulator Dzherelo (Immunoxel) even in difficult-to-treat TB patients who have concomitant HIV. In the group receiving Immunoxel we had seen higher rate of chest X-ray clearing (84% vs. 46%), negative sputum findings (67% vs 16%), weight gain (5.8 kg gain vs 0.6 kg loss), lower OI incidence (3 vs 12), and significantly shortened treatment duration (4 months vs 7 months) as compared to control group receiving TB drugs only. These improvements are all in favor of this immunotherapeutic intervention.
