Anchala PR et al. – Although renovascular disease accounts for less than 1% of patients with mild hypertension, it is estimated that between 10 and 45% of white patients with severe or malignant hypertension have renal artery stenosis (RAS). In this population, diagnosing and treating RAS can have a profound and long–lasting effect on the treatment of hypertension.
