Yeh S et al. - The preoperative assessment includes an evaluation of concomitant, potentially life-threatening conditions, as well as a relevant history and ophthalmic examination. Postoperatively, patients should be monitored closely for the development of endophthalmitis, retinal detachment and proliferative vitreoretinopathy.
