Lee, Y-T, et al. - Hypertensive patients with additional risk factors such as diabetes, hypercholesterolemia, left ventricular hypertrophy, and obesity require much more aggressive goals and powerful drug therapies than uncomplicated hypertensives. In addition, elderly hypertensive patients at high risk are most often predisposed to left ventricular dysfunction. To date no guidelines for the management of these patients are available in Asia
