Certain Antidepressants May Inhibit Herpesvirus Infection and Reactivation
National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease - News, 10/29/09

The researchers demonstrated that, in addition to preventing infection, the MAOI drug TCP also prevented HSV reactivation. Importantly, says Dr. Kristie, the study contributes to the understanding of the mechanisms used by these viruses to infect host cells and of their cycles of latency–reactivation.
